The diverter valve is a component used in the underwater pelletizing system. It is mainly used to ensure that the materials and cooling water reach the die head at the same time, avoiding the situation where the materials solidify in the die hole and cause blockage. Besides, it can also be used as a sampling valve to test the performance of the materials.
The diverter valve is roughly composed of six parts: oil cylinder, plunger, pull rod, pull rod nut, pad iron, valve body. The valve body is equipped with two material melt flow channels. The push-pull piston is controlled by the oil cylinder, thereby enabling the switching between the discharge position and the working position.
Before starting the machine, the diverter valve is in the discharge position, and the water pump is turned on for a small circulation of the pipeline. Then, the residual materials can be manually cleared, or you can directly start the machine to clear them up with the new materials. The delay time for the steering is controlled by the PLC cabinet to ensure that the molten material and the water in the pipeline reach the die head at the same time.
Used as a diverter valve in underwater pelletizer:
Used as a sampling valve after the extruder
In TPU reactive extrusion, it can be installed between the last section of the extruder barrel and the melt pump, facilitating the sampling and testing of material properties after the material mixing is completed.
