Successful Delivery of CHT65D Twin Screw Extruder with Underwater Pelletizing Line

The underwater pelletizing line is generally composed of start-up valve, die head, pelletizer, water bypass system and pipe fittings, centrifugal dehydrator and control system.

Underwater pelletizing line is a kind of “Hot-face cutting”. When uniform high-temperature molten materials enter the die head flow channel from the end of the upstream equipment, the materials are cut into drops by the high-speed rotating cutter blade when they just leave the die hole and enter the processing water. Due to the physical characteristics of the maximum specific surface area of particles and the temperature difference between the molten drop polymer and the processing water, the drops solidify and form particles close to the sphere. This granulation method of “hot-face cutting before water-cooling” determines that it is well qualified for granulation of materials with poor melting strength, high viscosity and high heat sensitivity.

The customer’s material is SEBS. After the formula test specified by the customer, the customer fully affirmed the machine performance of Cowin Extrusion.

The finished particles were sent to the customer for testing, and the test results met the customer’s expectations. After being approved by the customer, the production task that took two and a half months ended completely. The whole production line was packaged and sent to Paraguay.
