In early March, a CSE180 single-screw extruder at the COWIN factory successfully completed both no-load and load testing and is now ready for delivery to the customer.
The extruder will be used in special materials processing for national defense applications, specifically for the extrusion of energetic materials such as nitrocellulose and RDX. To meet the stringent requirements of this type of process, the extrusion equipment was specially designed and manufactured in accordance with relevant military industry standards.
Key components throughout the extruder system were selected in compliance with explosion-proof specifications, including the drive motor, temperature sensors, pressure sensors, and related electrical systems. These configurations ensure safe and reliable operation of the extrusion equipment when handling sensitive energetic materials.
Prior to delivery, the single-screw extruder successfully completed a series of process verification tests and substitute material trials. All operational parameters remained stable and met the designed production capacity and process requirements.
