High-Speed Single Stage Side Feeder

Installed on the side of the extruder barrel, the high-speed single stage side feeder is ideal for continuous, controlled feeding of fillers or recycled material. Featuring a relatively simple structure, high rotational speed, and large feeding capacity, it can help boost your extrusion efficiency.

High-speed single stage side feeder components

High-speed single stage side feeder is installed on the side of the extruder barrel, primarily used for efficiently, continuously, and controllably feeding a high proportion of fillers or recycled material directly into the melt stream being plasticized and mixed by the main screw. Its characteristics are a relatively simple structure, high rotational speed, and large feeding capacity.

Components

  • Drive Motor: Provides power, driving the screw and other components to operate via the transmission system; it is the power source for equipment operation.
  • Gear Reducer: Connects the drive motor to the screw, used to reduce the motor speed and increase torque, enabling the screw to obtain an appropriate operating speed and power, ensuring stable feeding.
  • Control Box (including buttons): Implements operational controls such as starting/stopping the equipment and speed adjustment; some can also monitor operating status.
  • Barrel: The channel for material conveying and plasticization. It contains the screw internally and can be connected for water cooling, used to regulate material temperature, ensuring the material state for feeding and subsequent processing.
  • Support Frame and Base: Supports the entire equipment. The base is equipped with casters for easy movement and positioning adjustment, ensuring stability during equipment operation.
  • Connection Flange: Used to interface with the main extruder, ensuring material smoothly enters the next processing stage.

Working Principle

The drive motor starts, and after being slowed down and torque-increased by the gear reducer, it drives the screw inside the barrel to rotate. Material enters the barrel from the specific feed port and is conveyed and sheared as the screw rotates, being transported forward within the barrel. During this process, if the material temperature rises excessively due to friction, etc., the water-cooling system integrated into the barrel introduces cooling water to remove heat, maintaining a suitable material temperature inside the barrel. Finally, the material, after being conveyed and processed by the screw, is steadily fed into the main extruder through the connection flange at the barrel end. This continuously provides uniform material in a suitable condition for subsequent processing, achieving precise and efficient side feeding functionality and ensuring the continuity and stability of production processes like extrusion.
